Report summarizes the current status and recent trends when it comes to media freedoms and journalist safety in Albania. Concerns over the safety of journalists increased in 2020 with 17 alerts in Albania. Limited availability of data about attacks on journalists and impunity. Limited transparency, whether intentional or ex officio, of state institutions, also hinders the work of journalists. Findings aim to guide key stakeholders in the country to engage in various advocacy activities to advance the political, legislative, and institutional environment in which the journalists and media work.
