About the project
The SMS Facility – Small Media Support in the Western Balkans is a regional initiative co-funded by the European Union to strengthen the resilience, independence, and sustainability of small and local media outlets. Covering Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Serbia, the project supports professionalisation by combining direct financial support with tailored mentoring, training, and networking. By improving governance and content quality, we empower local media to better serve communities and counter information deserts. The consortium is led by the Center for the Promotion of Civil Society (CPCD) in partnership with Thomson Media, SCiDEV, Kosovo Glocal, Center for Democratic Transition, and Metamorphosis Foundation.
