Dr Aida Al-Kaisy is a media development consultant and academic researcher who has worked extensively on media projects across the Global South and Central Eastern Europe. She is currently working on projects which focus on issues related to the development of independent media, media and journalism in countries where freedom of expression is challenged, and gender and human rights. She teaches at the School of Oriental and African Studies and is the co-founder of Iraqi independent media platform, Jummar. Aida is a keen promoter of ethical values in journalistic practice and media governance.
