Empowering journalists to tell impactful stories about the region’s green transition
Are you a journalist or content creator passionate about the environment and green energy? Ready to sharpen your skills and report impactful stories on the just green transition in the Western Balkans?
The fellowship seeks to strengthen transparency in the renewable energy sector, raise public awareness, and support the democratisation and decentralisation of energy markets through more robust media coverage. Through a series of interconnected activities, the programme enhances media reporting on the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans. Its core aim is to empower a new generation of journalists to produce high-quality, cross-border, and inclusive reporting focused on energy reforms, transparency, and elevating the voices of vulnerable communities.
15 fellows will be selected for a dynamic program combining training, mentoring, and story production grants.
What you’ll gain:
- Expert training in investigative, mobile, and multiplatform journalism, including AI tools
- All travel and accommodation expenses covered for onsite training
- Mentoring by experienced journalists
- Story production grants of approximately $1,000 for the top 5 fellows
- Networking and regional collaboration opportunities
Who can apply:
Journalists, media workers, and digital content creators based in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Serbia
Requirements:
- Proven interest or experience in reporting on environmental or energy topics
- Good command of English
- Commitment from August to December 2025
