Discover tested approaches and real-world success stories at Thomson Media’s session during the 2025 IPI World Congress

As part of the 2025 IPI World Congress and Media Innovation Festival, Thomson Media will host an engaging session on the power of idea validation in shaping successful and sustainable media projects.

The session will spotlight the Validation Booster programme, launched by Thomson Media to help media organisations, journalists, and content creators test and refine their innovative ideas before entering the funding and implementation phase. Through a structured six-month process of market research, mentoring, and expert guidance, the programme equips participants with tools to explore monetisation options and develop more resilient business models.

The event, ‘Navigating Success Stories: Why Validation of Ideas Matters for Media Innovation and Monetization,‘ will take place on 24 October 2025, from 9:30 to 12:00 in the Maximilian Room at the historic Schönbrunn Orangery and Apothekertrakt in Vienna.

The event will feature a stand-up presentation by the programme business lead Vladimir Trkulja, who will outline the programme’s purpose, structure, and results, followed by pitches from four Validation Booster participants showcasing innovative projects from Greece, Slovakia, North Macedonia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and will conclude with a panel discussion where mentors and beneficiaries share first-hand experiences of how validation influenced their projects’ trajectories, improved their strategies, and attracted further support and collaborations.

By bringing together media innovators, journalists, editors, and decision-makers, the session creates a space for knowledge exchange, fosters new collaborations, and connects validated, high-impact ideas with those positioned to support their implementation.

The session is open to all congress participants: media representatives, journalists, initiatives, as well as funders interested in supporting innovative and validated media projects. To participate in this and many other sessions, you must register for the 2025 IPI World Congress by 1 October 2025 on the link https://tinyurl.com/3fehfknr

This event is part of the 2025 IPI World Congress and Media Innovation Festival, taking place from 23 to 25 October 2025, in Vienna, Austria. Marking IPI’s 75th anniversary, the Congress will gather leading journalists, editors, and media leaders from around the globe to discuss pressing issues such as journalist safety in high-risk environments, the rise of authoritarian threats, and the future of sustainable media business models.

By highlighting practical success stories and tested approaches, Thomson Media’s session underscores the importance of validation as a cornerstone of media innovation and sustainability. Don’t miss the chance to hear how you can move from doubting your ideas to making sure they work, and how validated projects can open new pathways for collaboration, investment, and real-world impact.
