Shape the future of green transition reporting: Open call for the Innovation Hub

Empowering young journalists to lead the Green Transition through innovation and storytelling

Are you ready to revolutionise how the green transition is covered in your country? If you’re a journalism student, young or mid-career journalist, or a content creator from the Western Balkans or Central Eastern Europe, the Innovation Hub is your chance to collaborate, innovate, and make an impact.

Event will be held in Subotica, Serbia on 7-8 June 2025.

Organised as part of the Media Innovation Europe 2.0 project, the Innovation Hub is a two-day, in-person workshop that brings together media talent from across the region. This is a unique opportunity to develop impactful ideas and digital solutions that highlight the role of renewable energy, energy efficiency, and circular economy in the just green transition, and to hold decision-makers accountable.

Whether you want to master solution journalism or shape digital innovations in the newsroom, this workshop has a place for you. Participants will receive:

  • Mentorship from leading journalists and business experts
  • Hands-on training in creative storytelling, media innovation, and idea validation
  • Networking opportunities with peers and experts
  • Support for the best ideas through Thomson’s Validation Booster and Fellowship programmes

You can choose between two tracks:

  • Content Development (focus on writing, reporting, storytelling)
  • Digital Solutions and Business Models (focus on innovation, validation, product thinking)

Travel and accommodation will be fully covered for selected participants.
