Ferizaj/Uroševac-based RTV Tema in the frame of the Media for All project enhanced video production capacities, launched two high-quality TV series, improved online sales via in-stream video ads, and introduced a new, subscriber-based, platform and in-store radio service.
In order to be capable of focusing both on commercial and documentary / news video production, RTV Tema hired four new people in the production and news departments.
With the introduction of the new 4.6K cinema camera, their video production department has adapted to a more sophisticated production chain, adding new positions: camera assistant, focus puller, steady-cam/gimbal operator, and a colourist.
“By receiving in-house and Thomson training in journalism and video production our staff has improved the quality of scriptwriting and visual storytelling, making our video production more influential and attractive to watch,” Visar Hoti, director of RTV Tema, said.
Documentary production, as one of the key pillars of RTV Tema’s business plan, focused on promoting rural villages and tourist attractions of Kosovo and Albania, in order to contribute to tourism promotion and overall economic development of the community where they operate.
In order to fully benefit from the production improvements RTV Tema also developed new outreach and social media strategies.
“During the project implementation we had significantly improved our social media outreach. The number of Facebook followers increased by 13%. We also increased advertising incomes for 45% compared to the same period last year,” Hoti said.
RTV Tema is a private local television established in 2000 as a radio station, and from 2005 is licensed as a television station covering 10 municipalities in Kosovo with approximately 700,000 residents.
It is one of the six outlets from Kosovo that are part of the Media for All business development grant scheme. The project is funded by the UK Government and implemented by the British Council, Thomson Foundation, BIRN and INTRAC in all Western Balkans countries.
