As a result of intensive training on data visualization, held on 10 and 11 June, journalists of Lozničke novosti started publishing articles in a more interactive and engaging way. Namely, they recently published their first fully illustrated article with interactive graphics using the Flourish tool.

“The training was extremely interesting and useful, I learned something new and opened the door to new knowledge. I posted the first one recently, but there will definitely be more,”

said Nebojša Trifunović, journalist at Lozničke novosti.

In an era of narrowly-focused media, fake news and social bubbles, data visualization offers the opportunity for media outlets to tell stories that are driven by the facts and thus improve their credibility and trustworthiness.

Moreover, like other forms of journalism, data visualization can be effective for both breaking news and for feature stories, where it can go deeper into a topic and offer a new perspective, to help you see something familiar in a completely new way.

Data visualization training, throughout the June, has been attended by more than 50 participants from 19 outlets from WB countries.
