Local public service Radio Television Nikšić was founded in 1995, as the first local TV station in Montenegro. Today, this public media is one of the most important sources of information for the local community of the second largest city in Montenegro. Today, in addition to radio and television channels, it also has a web portal.
As a partner of the Media for All project, RTV Niksic developed its technical capacities and accordingly offered a new service - live streaming - which enabled them to broadcast events of local significance more efficiently, led to an increase in audiences and opened space for monetization.
“The basic idea of the project is to launch a new service of Radio Television Niksic. The new service implies the establishment of technical and human resources for live video streaming,” said Vladimir Utješinović from RTV Nikšić. “In order to establish a stable and fully functional service, it was necessary to procure adequate equipment that is connected to the existing one. It was also necessary to train employees for work, so that the service would be fully operational and professional. "
Saša Krušić, project coordinator, talks about how the new service has helped RTV Nikšić to better profile itself in its local community:
Since the beginning of the project, RTV Nikšić has been working on the promotion of the new service so that interested, potential clients would be acquainted with the possibilities of video streaming. Promotional activities were realized primarily through the broadcasting of video commercials on television. Cooperation with local self-government has also been established in order to broadcast events of local institutions of general social importance.

During the implementation of the project (new streaming service), Radio Television Nikšić realized more than 30 streams (more than 70 hours of live broadcast). In the first six months of project implementation, RTV Nikšić earned EUR 3,400 from the new service.
